Linux Steam Client Outed?

Phoronix, today has released two new screenshots showing the Steam client running on Linux. The client is not in a usable state right now, only loads up to the splash screen of the Steam Client, but that does not deny the fact that Steam is working on making one happen. With Steam for Mac announced to be released on May 12th, the possibility of a Linux version coming soon is very probable. Hopefully we get more information soon. If Steam were to release on Linux would more people accept it then? It would help gaming on Linux take off and if it helps gaming take off wouldn’t Linux take off with it as well? Let us know what you think in the comments.
